About OCD Relief
Meet Lindsey Maykowski, LPC
Welcome to OCD Relief. I’m Lindsey Maykowski, LPC, and I provide specialized online therapy for OCD, anxiety, and trauma throughout Virginia and Flordia. I created OCD Relief to offer a supportive, personalized space for people who are ready to understand their symptoms, break free from the cycle of OCD, and make meaningful changes.
My approach draws from Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), cognitive behavioral therapy, Internal Family Systems, and trauma-informed care. I offer both traditional weekly sessions and extended therapy sessions for clients who benefit from additional time and focused support.
Whether you’re just beginning to understand your OCD or have been struggling with it for years, my goal is to meet you with compassion, without judgment, and help you move toward greater freedom and confidence.

Professional Journey
My path to becoming a therapist began with a degree in psychology from Old Dominion University and continued with my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I completed three years of supervised clinical practice before becoming a licensed professional counselor in 2017. Since then, I’ve continued to work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating a wide range of challenges.
Over more than a decade in the counseling field, my work has increasingly centered around OCD, anxiety, and trauma, areas I’m especially passionate about. I’ve seen how exhausting it can be to feel stuck in patterns of fear, avoidance, reassurance seeking, or overwhelming thoughts. I value helping clients understand what’s happening so they can feel less controlled by their symptoms.
My style is warm, straightforward, and collaborative. I don’t believe therapy should feel like you’re sitting across from someone who is simply telling you what to do. Instead, I want our work together to feel like a partnership where you can be honest, ask questions, challenge yourself, and build confidence along the way. Therapy can be uncomfortable at times, and I’ll be there to help you work through those uncomfortable moments while also making room for some laughter along the way.
